Motor Vehicle Divison

What we do:
Our Motor Vehicle Division bills, collects and distributes Ad Valorem and Title Ad Valorem taxes for motor vehicles, trailers, motor homes, motorcycles/scooters and tractor trailers under IRP.

In addition, this division also operates as a tag agent on behalf of the Georgia Department of Revenue. As such, they enforce state and local laws regarding vehicle registration requirements, insurance, and mobile home ownership. This includes collecting fees associated with those regulations.

This Motor Vehicle Division page is your primary resource for all things motor vehicle related. Use the side navigation to find the page you’re looking for. If you need extra assistance, dial 912-554-7000. We're always happy to help.

You can also visit the FAQs to get answers to many of your motor vehicle questions.

Sample License Driver’s License Information
For most things, we require a Glynn County ID or Driver's License.
The Georgia Department of Driver Services handles all driver's license services. Visit www.dds.ga.gov for more information.

If you have a gold star in the top right corner of your ID, you can update your address online for free!

Hours of operation:
Our offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. We are unable to process title work after 4:30 pm, so please plan your visit accordingly.

Title work is considered transactions such as ownership transfers, name changes, adding or removing names from titles, or adding liens. This includes purchasing a tag for the first time if you are in possession of the title.

If you purchased your vehicle from a dealer, you can call ahead to inquire about the status of your title. We will be able to let you know if it's time to purchase your tag.
